MEET THE HOSERS

Hey there!

We're a group of Rockcliffe residents who value spending time with friends and family and enjoying the outdoors. We began as a small crew of volunteers who help scrape, shovel, flood, and supervise the outdoor rinks in our community. Volunteers are teamed up to work together to maintain the rinks throughout the season. Today, the hosers consists of roughly 125 volunteers!

Together with the support of our generous sponsors, our new multi-purpose sports pad and field house in Rockcliffe Park opened on December 16th, 2018. This new community resource encourages active living within our neighbourhood and allows our community to enjoy outdoor recreation and local events all year long. It is truly a facility that Rockcliffe Park can take pride in!

PLEASE NOTE:

No public rink access on school days from 8:30-3:30, school group bookings only.

Rockcliffe Hosers reserve the right to clear the rink for nightly maintenance and flooding.

Attendant hours may be subject to change

Field house and rink are supervised by rink attendants during the following winter hours:

Monday to Fridays (School Days)

4:00pm – 9:00pm

Saturday

10:00am – 9:00pm

Sundays + Holidays

10:00am – 6:00pm

FAMILY SKATING HOURS

Rink priority during these times is for free skating without hockey sticks

Tuesday + Thursday 4:00 - 5:30 pm

Saturday + Sunday 2:00 - 4:00 pm

CREATING THE FIELD HOUSE

On December 16, 2018, Rockcliffe Park Field House opened up its doors after almost a decade of dreaming. It took countless hours of preparation, community fundraisers, project management, and partnerships with families, companies and the City of Ottawa. The Rockcliffe Hosers are proud to have contributed such an important community resource to our neighbourhood.
